Paty Romero-Lankao is a Scientist III at the National Center for Atmospheric Research who investigates the interactions between urban development and the global environment. She has done research exploring how urban development impacts the environment, the social factors that contribute to urban resilience and vulnerability, and the strategies cities use to cope with impacts while reducing emissions. Her research spans the US and Latin America. She is a coordinating lead author of the IPCC Working Group 2 (impacts, adaptation and vulnerability), a Leopold Leadership Fellow and a winner of the Latino Leader Award for Science from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
