Citizens’ Committee for Flood Relief Talks Hydrology

On Monday May 13th, leaders Susan Liley and Paula Arbuthnot of the group Citizen’s Committee for Flood Relief (CCFR), held a 2.5 hour long meeting with members from their Thriving Earth Exchange science team, Robb Jacobson (USGS) and Dan Hanes (University of St. Louis). Robb and Dan talked about general hydrology concepts and how hydrologists look at Joachim Creek which runs through the heart of their town, De Soto, Missouri. Together, the team along with participants, engaged in a lively discussion and shared ideas for solutions. The team is getting ready to review the much anticipated floodplain management study by the United States Army Corps of Engineers-supported Silver Jackets Program. CCFR worked hard to get a seat at the table on the study.
