A headshot of Shari Rose.Shari Rose is an innovative programs leader with over ten years of expertise in inclusive STEM for outdoor education, and community impact initiatives. She has specific expertise in culturally relevant teaching/facilitation, food justice programs, and civic engagement initiatives. Prior to joining the Thriving Earth Exchange team, she was the Associate Director of Environmental Education at the City Parks Foundation. In this role, she developed and expanded urban agricultural education and social impact initiatives for under-resourced BIPOC youth populations across New York City, specializing in streamlining programmatic offerings for parks equity and access initiatives. Additionally, she currently serves on the board of Green Guerillas, an organization that promotes food justice, urban agriculture, and community-led civic engagement within public green spaces in NYC.

Shari earned her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies: Human Ecology as a Posse Foundation Scholar at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and studied Urban Agriculture at Farm School NYC. She was recognized as one of Hunter College’s 40 Under 40: The Rising Stars in NYC Food Policy, Class 2023.

In her spare time, you can find her growing vegetables and herbs with her daughter in her local community garden. Hot peppers and okra are her favorite crop to grow and eat!
