The Exchange @ Fall Meeting 2013

Category: TEXnews

Raj and Julia, our dedicated Exchange team members, and some of our amazing Advisory Board members will be in San Francisco for the American Geophysical Union’s annual Fall Meeting, 9-13 December 2013. We’ll be mingling, meeting up with attendees, going to mixers and poster sessions, and hosting a few of our own events. Say hi and ask us for some sweet giveaways.

Thriving Earth Exchange LIVE! Session

We are very excited to host a lightning-round challenge in San Francisco (10 December 2013, 10:20 AM – 12:20 PM PST).  A Denver-based community group will describe the challenges they are interested in tackling, from linking air-pollution to asthma, to vulnerability to geohazards. Attendees will form teams and brainstorm solutions for how Earth and Space sciences could help address those challenges. It’ll be big, collaborative, competitive in a friendly way, community-science oriented, and interactive. Prizes will be awarded for the winning solutions!

Thriving Earth Exchange Town Hall

Maybe a little calmer, but just as informative! During the Town Hall (12 December 2013, 12:30-1:30 PM PST), we’ll host a conversation between Exchange communities, the scientist who work with them, and the program managers at AGU. Come get answers about how things work, and learn from communities what it’s like working with scientists.
